Ukhia’s pride and SAFF Championship-winning star footballer Shaheda Akter Ripa received a grand reception organized by the Bangladesh Nationalist Women’s Party, Ukhia Upazila Branch. Sultan Mahmud Chowdhury was the chief guest at the event, which was held in her honor.

Irene Mahmud, President of the Women’s Party’s Ukhia branch, presided over the ceremony and praised Ripa’s achievements. 

In her speech, Shaheda Akter Ripa shared her experiences from the SAFF Championship and encouraged Ukhia’s youth to pursue sports with determination and passion.

Chief guest Sultan Mahmud Chowdhury remarked, “Shaheda Akter Ripa is our pride. Her success is not just for Ukhia or Cox’s Bazar but an inspiration for the entire country. She stands as a shining role model for all.” He added, “Our girls compete equally with boys in every field, making us proud as a nation.”

The event saw enthusiastic participation from party members, local representatives, and young sports enthusiasts. Guests presented Shaheda with floral bouquets as a token of appreciation and gratitude for her remarkable achievements.

Organizers expressed hope that such events would inspire the youth of Ukhia to engage more actively in sports, fostering a vibrant sports culture in the region.
