Archana Barua, a Girl-in-Scout member of Urira Mukta Scout Group in Ukhiya, has been officially selected for the President’s Scout Award, the highest recognition in the Scout Branch of Bangladesh Scouts.

The result was announced on Wednesday (March 19) through a notification signed by Mahfuza Parveen, Director of the Program Division of Bangladesh Scouts.

To achieve this prestigious honor, a scout must undergo a rigorous selection process at the upazila, district, regional, and national levels, which includes written, oral, practical, and swimming tests.

Rabbiul Hasan Shimul, Secretary and Group Scout Leader of Urira Mukta Scout Group, stated:
“The primary goal of scouting is to develop children and adolescents physically, mentally, morally, intellectually, and socially, shaping them into responsible citizens of their families, society, country, and the world.”

He further emphasized that, in line with the principles of Lord Baden-Powell, members must go through training, oath-taking, and initiation to be part of the scouting movement.

Fazlul Karim, Secretary of Bangladesh Scouts Ukhiya Upazila, remarked:
“This prestigious recognition, conferred by the Honorable President of Bangladesh, will serve as a great inspiration in Archana’s journey ahead.”

To qualify for the President’s Scout Award, Archana successfully earned 16 mandatory proficiency badges. Expressing her excitement, she sought blessings from all for her future endeavors.
