As the chill of winter deepens, the biting cold is becoming a source of immense hardship for many, particularly the impoverished.

The ongoing cold wave has heightened the struggles of the lower-income population, especially those living in rural areas and along the coastlines. With more cold spells likely before the season ends, the situation could worsen further.

In light of this, voluntary organizations in Cox’s Bazar urge affluent individuals and compassionate groups to step forward and support those in need. Warm clothing is now an urgent necessity for these communities.

Every year, various social organizations and individuals extend their support by distributing warm clothes to cold-stricken people. The government also provides winter clothing to the underprivileged through its relief initiatives.

This year, society’s collective responsibility has become more critical than ever. Both individual and organizational efforts can significantly alleviate the suffering of those struggling to cope with the cold.

Himel Himu, the founder and director of Tarunner Avijatrik , shared with Cox’s Bazar Life, “The lower and lower-middle-income groups are facing severe challenges this winter. It is vital for the affluent sections of society, along with government support, to step up and provide assistance to the cold-stricken.”
