Cox’s Bazar will unveil its dedicated tourism app, Vromonika, on March 10. Shish Haider Chowdhury, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Secretary, will officially inaugurate the app. Mohammad Salah Uddin, Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar, will preside over the launch event.
Developed under the initiative and planning of the Cox’s Bazar District Administration, Vromonika is designed as a personal travel guide for tourists, offering essential information at their fingertips.
Accommodation is often the first concern for travelers planning their trip. The app integrates a comprehensive database of hotels, motels, and resorts, allowing tourists to find lodging based on proximity to specific beaches or attractions. More accommodation options are being added progressively.
Vromonika is also a complete travel companion, providing information on tourist spots, travel routes, best visiting times, local attractions, dining options, rides, and activities. Each location has precise distances, Google Maps directions, and essential safety guidelines.
Ensuring tourist safety has been a top priority in the app’s development. Users will have real-time access to tidal updates, weather forecasts, and high-risk zones along the coast. Additionally, emergency contact details for tourism magistrates, tourist police, doctors, and beach volunteers are readily available. The app also features direct call options for lifeguards and ambulance services.
The app details where and when activities such as horseback riding, beach bike rides, jet ski rentals, locker services, and professional photography are available.
The Cox’s Bazar District Administration aims to make Vromonika a one-stop tourism solution. While the initial version focuses on essential information, future updates will directly introduce hotel and restaurant reservations, activity bookings, and ride services through the app.
According to the District Administration, Vromonika is now available for Android users and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
