With the arrival of winter, vegetable prices are starting to decrease in Cox’s Bazar. A visit to Cox’s Bazar’s Boro Bazaar reveals a vibrant array of seasonal produce, including radishes, cabbage, cauliflower, beans, cucumbers, gourds, eggplants, and tomatoes.
These winter vegetables included eggplants at Tk35-Tk40 per kg, cauliflower at Tk45-Tk50 per piece, papaya at Tk15-Tk20 per kg, and gourds at Tk20-Tk30 each.
Prices ranged from Tk30 to Tk35 per kg for radishes and cucumbers, around Tk30 for a quarter kg of beans, and Tk20 for a set of four lemons.
Other vegetables include snake gourds at Tk40-TK50 per kg, ridge gourds at Tk50-Tk60 per kg, large gourds at Tk40-TK50 each, and eggplants at a higher rate of Tk80-TK90 per kg.
Moreover, the bitter gourd was available at Tk60-Tk70 per kg, carrots at Tk130-Tk150 per kg, red spinach bundles at Tk10-Tk15, and green stalks (data) at Tk20-Tk25 per bundle.
