A workshop was held in Ramu on Wednesday at the Upazila Parishad Conference Hall to form the Upazila Tourism Development Committee. The event, jointly organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s ISEC Project and Enroute International Limited, focused on sustainable tourism growth in the region.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Rashedul Islam presided over the workshop, where several officials, including Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Asim Baran Sen, addressed the audience.
Speakers emphasized that tourism development is not just about infrastructure but a comprehensive process requiring security, sustainable management, and active community participation.
A 23-member Upazila Tourism Development Committee was formed following discussions with UNO Md. Rashedul Islam as the convener. The committee aims to enhance Ramu’s tourism prospects.
