Cox’s Bazar Tourist Police Superintendent Al-Asad Md. Mahfuzul Islam has emphasized the need for young people to take proactive roles in community service. Recognizing their efforts, he praised the Youth Humanitarian Service Organization (YHSO) for its commendable initiatives that have significantly contributed to social development. YHSO organized a day-long workshop where he, as the chief guest, urged greater youth engagement in social welfare activities.
On Friday, December 20, the Tourist Police Hall Room near Laboni Point in Cox’s Bazar hosted the workshop and a celebratory feast. Advocate Ramiz Ahmed, the organization’s chief advisor, presided over the event, while YHSO HRD Director Tasbiul Hasan Raul and Mohammad Nayeem moderated it.
The workshop featured notable trainers and speakers, including Advocate Khaled Salah Uddin, a former legal advisor at BRAC, and Advocate G.M. Asheq Ullah, President of the Cox’s Bazar Journalists’ Union. NGO representative Abidur Rahman from IFSA also shared his insights.
As the keynote speaker, Moazzem Hossain, Deputy Director of the Cox’s Bazar Youth Development Department, highlighted the importance of youth in driving social change. Special guest Professor Mohammad Ullah from the Department of History, Cox’s Bazar Government College, also shared valuable perspectives.
The event gathered 50 selected young participants and leaders from Ukhiya-Teknaf, Chakaria-Pekua, Cox’s Bazar Sadar, and Ramu Upazilas. Their active involvement underscores the potential of youth-led initiatives in addressing community needs and fostering growth.
