Under the theme “Technology-Driven Youth Power, Progress Through Multilateral Partnerships,” Cox’s Bazar marked National and International Youth Day with a vibrant youth rally, a discussion session, and the distribution of youth loan checks and certificates.
The District Administration and the District Youth Development Office jointly organized the events on Monday morning. The Deputy Commissioner’s office served as the starting point for the rally, which then proceeded along the main city streets. Following the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room, where District Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin delivered the keynote speech.
In his address, the District Commissioner emphasized that the youth will be at the forefront of building a just and exploitation-free Bangladesh, citing the July uprising as a strong example of youth power. He further highlighted the growing importance of technology in all sectors including entrepreneurship and employment, urging young people to acquire technical skills. He described a skilled youth force as the key driver of a country’s socio-economic development.
The discussion was chaired by Moazzem Hossain, Deputy Director of the District Youth Development Office, with additional speeches from Additional District Commissioner Imran Hossain Sajib, District Education Officer Golam Mostafa, and other dignitaries.
Participants in the program included officials from various government and non-government departments, youth leaders, and students.
After the discussion, five successful young entrepreneurs received youth loan checks and certificates totaling TK 730,000. The District Commissioner led the youth in reciting the pledge before the distribution, which strengthened the young participants’ sense of dedication.
