A total of 48 mm of rainfall was recorded in the last 24 hours (until 6:00am) in Cox’s Bazar.

Abdul Hannan, assistant meteorologist at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department office in Cox’s Bazar, confirmed the information.

He said dense cloud cover persists, and heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning may occur at any time, urging residents to remain cautious.

However, no warning signal has been issued for the Cox’s Bazar seaport so far, he added.

Authorities have advised people to take precautions during adverse weather conditions.

Residents are urged to stay in a safe shelter during lightning, avoid standing under tall trees, electric poles, or towers, and limit the use of electrical devices such as mobile phones and televisions.

Caution is advised when moving through waterlogged areas, and unnecessary outdoor movement should be avoided.

People have been asked to stay updated with further instructions from the administration and the meteorological authorities.
