A massive 38-kg coral fish was caught with a fishing rod in the Naf River at Teknaf on Sunday evening. The catch was made near the Transit Jetty Ghat around 6 PM, stunning locals and visitors alike.
Nur Kabir, a resident of Jaliapara in Teknaf Municipality, reeled in the prized fish. Soon after being brought ashore, a local trader bought the giant fish for Tk 47,000. As the news spread, curious onlookers and tourists flocked to the jetty to glimpse the rare catch.
Md. Delwar Hossain, the Upazila Fisheries Officer of Teknaf, remarked that the presence of such large fish in the Naf River is likely due to a long period of fishing restrictions, which allowed marine life to thrive safely.
