Awareness leaflets were distributed at Cox’s Bazar sea beach urging tourists to refrain from taking photos or recording videos without consent, while also promoting the prevention of cyberbullying and sexual harassment.
The campaign took place yesterday at the Sugandha Point of the beach, where Sadar Upazila Steering Committee members handed out the informative leaflets.
The leaflets included important contact information for legal and emergency support, such as the 109 helpline for violence against women and children, the national emergency number 999, contact details for the executive magistrate of the tourism cell, and links to resources via the “Vromonika” mobile app.
The initiative was supported by the Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS) and the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders.
