In the aftermath of Eid-ul-Azha, municipal authorities and upazila administrations across Cox’s Bazar have mobilized to remove waste from sacrificial animals. Starting from midday, waste disposal operations began in various wards of the city.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin stated that municipal cleaning staff have been actively working to clear waste and sanitize the slaughter sites by applying bleaching powder to eliminate foul odors and maintain hygiene.

He added that this year, 31 designated slaughter spots were set up across 12 wards within the municipal area. However, some animal sacrifices still took place outside these designated locations. Municipal workers have also been dispatched to those areas to ensure proper waste management.

In addition, to support the preservation of animal hides, the government has distributed salt free of cost to aid in their proper storage.

This coordinated effort reflects the administration’s commitment to maintaining cleanliness and public health during and after the Eid celebrations.
