The Cox’s Bazar District Administration organized a symbolic marathon to commemorate the July-August Uprising Days 2025. The event aimed to honor and celebrate the historic uprisings of July and August with due reverence, and was held over a 5-kilometer route.
The marathon began early in the morning at Circuit House Road, passing through Ghumgachh Tila and Holiday Mor, before concluding at the open stage at Laboni Point.
In collaboration with the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation and District Sports Association, the event saw the participation of over 200 runners, including the families of those injured or martyred during the July Uprising, as well as July Warriors.
During the closing ceremony and prize distribution, District Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin presided over the event. He emphasized that to realize the spirit of the July Uprising and the dream of the nation’s liberation, everyone must work together. He expressed hope that the July Revolution would become a symbol of national freedom and a turning point for progress in the coming days.
Following his speech, the July Warriors and others shared their reflections. The District Commissioner then presented medals and certificates to the winners.
