The Bangladesh Coast Guard has extended free medical services and distributed medicines in Shahpari Island, Teknaf.

Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq, the Coast Guard media officer, confirmed the information on Thursday afternoon, September 25.

He said the Coast Guard has served disadvantaged communities in coastal and riverine areas across Bangladesh since its inception.

Over the years, it has organized several medical camps to provide free healthcare to low-income and underprivileged people.

Continuing this initiative, Coast Guard Base Chattogram organized a medical camp at Shahpari Island Government Primary School in Teknaf from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday.

At the camp, 525 poor, distressed, and underprivileged people, including children, received free medical consultations and medicines.

He added that the Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue to carry out such humanitarian and public welfare activities in the future.
