Even without a weekend or public holiday, Cox’s Bazar sea beach witnessed an overwhelming crowd on Tuesday evening as thousands of tourists and residents thronged the shoreline. The Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni points were buzzing with activity, turning the entire beach stretch into a lively spectacle.

Among these spots, Sugandha Point drew the largest crowd. Local residents arrived with their families to spend the evening by the sea. Children played along the shore, adults engaged in casual conversations, and the slowly changing hues of the sky created a captivating atmosphere. As the sun dipped below the horizon, everyone paused to take in the breathtaking sunset.

With the sky taking on a golden glow, the number of visitors increased even further. Many were seen capturing the moment on their mobile phones. Several visitors said they came to the beach to find relief from daily work pressure and fatigue, even if only for a short while.

Local traders were equally pleased with the turnout. Vendors selling coconut water, colorful balloons, and roasted corn did brisk business, while snack stalls offering chotpoti and fuchka saw long queues of customers.

Speaking about safety measures, Mohammad Belal Hossain, assistant supervisor of beach workers, said, “We give the highest priority to the safety of every tourist visiting Cox’s Bazar. All tourist spots are under constant monitoring. Providing immediate assistance in case of any danger is our first responsibility. If visitors follow instructions and stay within designated safe zones, they can enjoy the sea safely.”

Imtiaz Ahmed, field team manager of the ‘Sea Safe Lifeguard’ project, said, “As the number of tourists increases, we have strengthened our activities. Regular announcements are being made through loudspeakers, and every movement of tourists entering the water is closely monitored to prevent any mishap.”

Chief of Tourist Police, Cox’s Bazar region, Additional DIG Apel Mahmud, said, “Every tourist visiting the beach is our guest. Tourist police remain on the highest alert to ensure their safety. We have further intensified patrols and surveillance at key points along the beach.”

Tourists also expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.

Rashed Mahmud, who came from Mirpur in Dhaka, said, “Even though it’s not a holiday, we came here with our children for a short break. We are satisfied with the security arrangements. Lifeguards and police are visible everywhere.”

Nazma Akter, a homemaker visiting with her family from Chattogram, said, “Despite the crowd, the environment feels positive. I don’t feel worried even with children, because security personnel are constantly on duty.”

Overall, even on a regular working day, Cox’s Bazar sea beach turned into a festive gathering. The spontaneous presence of locals and the enthusiasm of tourists once again prove that people’s love for the sea never fades.
