Baskets filled with fresh, bright red strawberries are drawing the attention of passers-by at a fruit shop in the Goongachtala area along the main road of Cox’s Bazar town. Neatly arranged in small bamboo baskets, the strawberries stand out from a distance, prompting many pedestrians to stop, take a closer look, and make a purchase.
Fruit sellers said that although the winter season is nearing its end, demand for strawberries remains strong. Currently, one-kilogram baskets of strawberries are priced between Tk 1,000 and Tk 1,400, depending on size and quality.
Abdul Karim, a local fruit vendor, said that presentation plays a key role in attracting customers. “Strawberries are visually appealing by nature. When we display them nicely, customers become even more interested. Sales are increasing every day, especially among young people and tourists,” he said.
Nazmul Hasan, a customer who stopped to buy strawberries, said the display caught his attention immediately. “I stopped because of how beautifully the strawberries were arranged in the baskets. They look fresh and appealing. The price is a bit high, but the quality seems excellent, so I bought them,” he said.
This aesthetic presentation has become an effective way to attract customers to fruit shops in the Ghunogachhtala area. In the tourist city of Cox’s Bazar, these colorful fruit displays are also adding an extra visual charm to the streets.
