An ancient mosque on the Marine Drive Area of Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar is attracting attention.
The mosque is located in Mathabhanga area of Baharchhara Union of the Upazila.
The local residents said that they have been hearing about this ancient mosque from their ancestors and it is about hundreds years old.
However, the nearly damaged mosque is currently non-usable and fully covered by jungle.
The single dome has a large mimber along its wall, a mihrab and few small niches.
It was built of burnt bricks, sand, lime and mortar.
