The Meteorological Department has issued local cautionary signal No. 3 for Cox’s Bazar sea port due to low pressure in the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjacent northwest area. Chittagong, Mongla, and Payra sea ports have also been asked to hoist the same warning signal.
Abdul Hannan, assistant meteorologist at Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Department, confirmed this on Saturday, stating that the low pressure has moved northward and remains concentrated in the same area. It could intensify further, leading to significant air pressure variations.
Gusty winds may affect the North Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh’s coastal areas, and sea ports. Fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been advised to approach the coast with caution until further notice.
