Ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, Cox’s Bazar authorities have intensified preparations to ensure the security of banks and financial institutions across the district. A coordination meeting was held on Tuesday (March 3) at 11 a.m. in the conference room of the Cox’s Bazar District Police Superintendent’s office.
The meeting was chaired by Cox’s Bazar District Superintendent of Police, A.N.M. Sajedur Rahman, and attended by senior officials from various government and private banks and financial institutions in the district.
During the meeting, the police superintendent emphasized that bank branches and ATMs experience a significant increase in transactions during Eid. He stressed the importance of strengthening overall security, including secure cash transportation, vigilant monitoring of ATMs and bank branches, maintaining effective CCTV surveillance, keeping security personnel alert, and promptly reporting suspicious activities to the police.
He further highlighted that in addition to police efforts, bank and financial institution officials must also play a responsible role. Coordinated measures between the police and financial institutions are essential to ensure safe and secure financial transactions during the festive period.
Attending officials actively shared suggestions and reached a consensus on implementing coordinated steps to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for Eid celebrations.
