Police, along with Detective Branch personnel, conducted a special joint operation in the hilly areas of Eidgaon and Ramu, using modern technology, to curb rising incidents of robbery and abduction.

The drive was carried out from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm on Sunday, March 29, under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Mahmudul Hasan.

The officer-in-Charge of Eidgaon Police Station, ATM Sifat-ul-Majdar, said the operation was conducted in response to a recent surge in criminal activities along the Eidgaon–Eidgor road and surrounding remote hilly forest areas.

He said drones and GPS technology were used to monitor suspected locations. As direct access to many of these remote, hilly areas is difficult, technology was deployed to identify potential criminal hideouts.

Police officials said such operations, supported by advanced technology, will continue both regularly and on a surprise basis to bring criminal networks under control.

Members of Eidgaon and Ramu police stations, along with local representatives and residents, also assisted in the operation.
