Cox’s Bazar International University (CBIU) has taken extensive preparations to celebrate the Bengali New Year 1433 in Cox’s Bazar. The university’s cultural organisation, CBIU Cultural Club, has arranged a day-long Baishakhi festival.
According to the organisers, the program will begin in Pahela Baishakh with a colourful rally from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The main event will start at 10:00 a.m., featuring an opening performance, a formal inauguration, and speeches by guests. Visitors will then be able to explore various stalls set up by students that showcase food, handicrafts, and traditional items.
The cultural segment will include songs, dances, and recitations in two phases. After a midday break for prayers and lunch, the second phase of performances will resume. The event will conclude at 4:00pm with a closing session and vote of thanks.
The organizers said the initiative aims to present Bengali heritage and culture to a younger generation. The entire campus will be decorated in a festive Baishakhi theme, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
