In a major operation in Teknaf, the Bangladesh Navy has recovered a large consignment of narcotics and foreign firearms worth approximately Tk 30 crore, along with the arrest of a wanted accused.

Acting on intelligence information, a Navy contingent conducted the raid early Monday, May 4, in the Alikhali area under Hnila Union of Teknaf. The operation targeted a brick kiln where the items were secretly stored underground.

During the search, authorities recovered 5 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) and 100,000 yaba tablets. The estimated market value of the seized drugs is around Tk 30 crore.

The team also recovered two foreign pistols, two magazines, and four rounds of live ammunition, considered a serious threat to law and order.

During the operation, a man named Nurul Kabir was detained in the area. He is reportedly a fugitive accused in multiple cases related to arms and narcotics, according to sources.

The seized drugs, weapons, ammunition, and the detained suspect have been handed over to Teknaf Police for further legal action.

The Bangladesh Navy stated that operations against drug and arms smuggling in coastal and maritime areas will continue.
