Thunderclouds moving from the Chattogram region are now advancing towards Chakaria, raising the possibility of rainfall in Cox’s Bazar in the near future.

Assistant meteorologist Abdul Hannan of the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Department said rain accompanied by gusty winds could occur in different parts of the district under the influence of cloud formations over the sea.

He expressed hope that the rainfall might bring some relief from the ongoing intense heatwave conditions.

Since morning, severe heat and humidity have disrupted normal life across Cox’s Bazar.

Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, large crowds of buyers and traders were seen at various cattle markets across the district, continuing last-minute trading amid scorching weather.

The extreme heat has particularly increased suffering in sacrificial animal markets, busy commercial areas, and important points across the town.

Rickshaw pullers, day laborers, and people working outdoors under the open sky have been facing the greatest hardship.

Residents said continuous hot weather over the past several days had already disrupted daily life.

Amid the prolonged heat, news of possible rainfall has brought residents a sense of relief and hope.
