A unique gathering of current and former members of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC), titled Cadet Bridge 2026, was held in Cox’s Bazar for the first time, bringing together cadets from across the country.

Organised by the Cox’s Bazar Ex-Cadet Alliance (CECA), the day-long reunion took place on May 30, 2026, at the conference hall of Uni Resort on the shore of the world’s longest sea beach.

Member of Parliament Lutfur Rahman Kajal attended the programme as the chief guest. Special guests included the acting principal of Cox’s Bazar City College and former cadet SM Akhtar Uddin Chowdhury, and the former chairman of Jhilongja Union Parishad and ex-cadet Gias Uddin Jiku.

The event was hosted by former cadets Sergeant Moin Uddin Rakib, Corporal Asifa Binte Rimu, and former Cadet Under Officer (CUO) Mahmudul Hasan Sojib. It was chaired by the chief coordinator of the reunion and former CUO Arifur Rahman Azad. The traditional BNCC darbar was presented by former CUO Shah Ahmad Ullah Al Momen, who served as the event’s regimental sergeant major, and former CUO Shahedul Islam Raihan, who served as adjutant.

The reunion brought together current and former cadets from the Army, Naval, and Air Wings of BNCC colleges across Cox’s Bazar district. Members of the University Training Corps (UTC), University Officers’ Training Corps (UOTC), and Junior Cadet Corps (JCC), as well as cadets from Chattogram, Cumilla, Dhaka, and other districts, also took part.

The programme began with a one-minute silence and special prayers marking the death anniversary of BNCC founder and former president Ziaur Rahman. Activities throughout the day included an awareness rally, sharing of camp memories, a CUO meet-up, award presentations, a quiz competition, cultural performances, a raffle draw, photo sessions, and refreshments.

Speakers said BNCC is not merely a training organisation but also a platform for developing leadership, discipline, patriotism, and humanitarian values. They noted that such gatherings help strengthen communication, unity, and camaraderie among current and former cadets.

The event created many emotional moments as cadets from different institutions reunited after years apart. Participants expressed hope that similar programmes would continue in the future and thanked the organisers for their initiative.

According to CECA, the organisation aims to uphold the traditions, unity, fraternity, volunteerism, and social responsibility fostered by BNCC while contributing to the overall development of Cox’s Bazar and humanitarian efforts during disasters. Organisers described Cadet Bridge 2026 as an important step towards achieving those goals.
