The Bangladesh Coast Guard has provided free medical treatment and medicines to hundreds of underprivileged people in the Kutubdia upazila of Cox’s Bazar as part of its humanitarian outreach programme.
A medical camp was organised on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Piltakata Government Primary School under the Kutubdia police station.
The camp, arranged under the supervision of Coast Guard Base Chattogram, offered free healthcare services to 637 disadvantaged people, including low-income residents, vulnerable families and children.
Medical professionals examined patients and provided necessary medicines free of charge during the day-long programme.
According to the Bangladesh Coast Guard, the initiative was undertaken as part of its ongoing public welfare activities to support people living in remote coastal areas.
The force said it would continue to organise similar humanitarian and community service programmes in coastal regions in the future to improve access to basic healthcare services for vulnerable communities.
