An overcast sky, pleasant temperatures and calm conditions combined to create ideal beach weather in Cox’s Bazar on Friday, attracting large numbers of tourists during the weekly holiday.
Unlike the intense heat of summer or heavy monsoon downpours, Friday’s weather offered comfortable conditions for tourists enjoying the beach.
Large crowds gathered at the Kalatali, Laboni and Sugandha points, where red-and-yellow safety flags indicated that swimming was permitted within designated areas.
Sea Safe Lifeguard authorities urged visitors to follow safety instructions while entering the sea.
According to the lifeguards, designated bathing zones have been marked at the three beach points where lifeguard services are available. These areas are identified with red-and-yellow flags or red flags marking the safety boundaries.
Tourists have been advised not to swim outside the designated zones, as doing so could be dangerous.
Mohammad Osman Gani, supervisor and senior lifeguard of Sea Safe, said the red-and-yellow flags indicated that swimming was safe within the designated areas.
“Although swimming is allowed today, several pits and channels have formed in parts of the beach. We strongly request visitors to remain within the marked zones where lifeguards are on duty,” he said.
According to the day’s tidal forecast, low tide was expected at 1:53 pm, while high tide was due at 7:45 pm.
Authorities also warned that ignoring lifeguard instructions or entering the sea beyond the designated safety zones could result in serious accidents.
