Cox’s Bazar enjoyed its first rain-free morning in nearly eight days on Sunday, bringing tourists back to the world’s longest natural sea beach after a prolonged spell of heavy and moderate rainfall.
From early morning, crowds of tourists were seen gathering at the Kolatoli, Sugandha and Laboni beach points, with many returning to the shore as weather conditions improved.
Continuous rainfall over the past week had significantly reduced the number of tourists, leaving the beach unusually quiet and disrupting tourism-related activities.
With the rain easing and the weather turning favourable, however, tourists flocked back to the beach to enjoy the sea. Some were seen taking in the waves, while others spent time with family and friends along the shoreline.
People involved in the local tourism industry expressed optimism that tourist arrivals would continue to increase over the coming days if the favourable weather persists, allowing beach-based businesses to gradually return to normal operations.
