The scenic Marine Drive, framed by the sea and hills, now offers food lovers a taste of Thailand at Bangkokian, a Thai restaurant located about 10 kilometres from Cox’s Bazar town, beyond Himchhari.
Opened in 2023, the restaurant has already gained popularity among tourists and local food enthusiasts seeking an alternative dining experience along Marine Drive.
Bangkokian’s menu features a range of traditional and popular Thai dishes, including Tom Kha Gai, Tom Yum Goong, Tom Yum Neua, Som Tam, Pak Bung Fai Daeng, Tod Mun Pla, Gai Yang, Goong Pao, Pad Krapow Talay, Pad Thai and Yum Woon Sen.
For fish lovers, the restaurant offers Pla Nueng Manao and Pla Tod. Its rice and noodle selection includes Kuai Tiew Nam, Pad Krapow Gai, Khao Mok Gai, Khao Man Gai, Khao Pad Goong and Gai Kratiem. Prices range from Tk 280 to Tk 1,100.
The restaurant’s interior carries elements of Thai culture, with bamboo and wooden details combined with carefully designed décor to create a calm and inviting setting. For many diners, the ambiance is as much a part of the experience as the food.
Harun Rashid, manager of Bangkokian, said the restaurant offers a selection of traditional and popular Thai dishes for food lovers.
‘We are trying to provide both quality food and a pleasant environment for our customers,’ he said.
With its combination of Thai cuisine, sea views and the hills of Marine Drive, Bangkokian is emerging as a new dining destination for tourists exploring the coastal road.
