Special trains will operate on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route from October 10 to 13 to accommodate the tourist surge during the Sharadiya Durga Puja holidays.

This extended holiday period, which includes a public holiday on October 13 and a weekend on October 11 and 12, is expected to draw thousands of tourists to Cox’s Bazar.

Golam Rabbani, station master of Cox’s Bazar Iconic Railway Station, confirmed the news, stating, “Due to increased demand, special trains will run between Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar for four consecutive days, ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey for passengers.”

The special train will depart Dhaka at 11:00 PM nightly from October 10 to 13 and arrive in Cox’s Bazar at 7:30 AM the next day. For the return journey, the train will leave Cox’s Bazar at 1:40 PM and reach Dhaka’s Kamalapur Station by 10:00 PM.

In addition to regular intercity services like the “Cox’s Bazar Express” and “Porjotok Express,” the special trains aim to improve travel options, boost railway revenue, and promote tourism in Cox’s Bazar.
