A consultation meeting focused on skills development in the tourism sector was held in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday, October 8.
The event, organized by the Academy of Information Technology (AIT) and funded by Swisscontact, occurred at a local hotel.
AIT Chairman Nazmul Karim Faruq presided over the meeting, with Cox’s Bazar Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ataul Gani Osmani attending as the chief guest. Special guests included Abu Morshed Chowdhury Khoka, President of the Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of attracting tourists by promoting sincerity, responsibility, and courteous behavior to unlock the tourism industry’s full potential. AIT Chairman Faruq noted that through the project, AIT has successfully trained 600 youths across seven courses. Following the training, the institution will also assist these individuals in securing employment opportunities within the sector.
