Cox’s Bazar is set to host the nation’s most significant idol immersion ceremony. To ensure the event is carried out in a peaceful and festive atmosphere, a special preparation meeting was held on October 12 at the Cox’s Bazar District Administration initiative.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salauddin presided over the meeting in the Shaheed ATM Jafar Alam Conference Hall at the District Commissioner’s office.
The gathering included law enforcement officials, political leaders, and members of the Puja Celebration Committee.
This year, 321 Puja Mandaps across the district celebrate Durga Puja, with 151 idols and 170 “Ghat Puja” installations.
To ensure the safe and smooth immersion of idols, the District Commissioner urged law enforcement agencies to maintain the highest level of caution and security during the procession on the immersion day.
