A few horses stand on the sandy beach at Cox’s Bazar’s Sugandha Point every morning, waiting for their riders.

Among them, the most striking horse captures the attention of tourists. Some tourists pose for pictures beside the horse, while others negotiate a price and hop on for a ride. After that, they take a scenic run along the beach.

During the recent four-day holiday for Durga Puja and the weekend, over 120,000 tourists gathered at the world’s longest sea beach.

While the exact number of people who rode the horses or took pictures beside them remains unknown, horse owners estimate that at least 20,000 tourists enjoyed a ride on horseback.

There are around 70 horses available for tourists at the Laboni, Seagull, Sugandha, and Kolatoli points on the beach.

Moreover, several horses can be found along Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive at Inani, Patuartek, and Teknaf Beach. Tourists can ride the horses from 8 a.m. until sunset, making it a popular daily activity.
