Cyclone Dana, currently positioned over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, is moving further northwest and has intensified while remaining in the same region.

The storm is expected to strengthen further, prompting the Meteorological Department to hoist cautionary signal no. 3 for the four maritime ports – Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra.

As of noon today, the cyclone was located 665 kilometers south-southwest of Chattogram port, 600 kilometers south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 640 kilometers south-southeast of Mongla port, and 595 kilometers south-southeast of Payra port.

The forecast indicates that it will continue to move northwest and intensify.
