To enhance women’s empowerment and expand their participation in social and cultural spheres, the NGO COAST Foundation, with financial support from UNHCR, has launched a series of activities in Cox’s Bazar involving women from various educational institutions and upazilas.
As part of this initiative, female football players from various schools participated in a women’s football match today (October 24) at the Thaingkhali High School field.
The event’s chief guest, Jamal Uddin, Sports Focal of UNHCR, and the match’s inaugurator, Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director of COAST Foundation, were present along with local members, club representatives, referees, and teachers from various schools.
In a thrilling match, Thaingkhali High School secured a 1-0 victory over the Telkhola School Team. Eight teams, four from Ukhiya and four from Teknaf participated in this tournament.
