An unusual abundance of shells and snails is now washing up on the shores of Cox’s Bazar, capturing the interest of locals and tourists alike.

Residents collect shells and snails to sell to traders, while visitors gather them as unique souvenirs. The vibrant, multicolored shells scattered along the sandy beach draw the attention of tourists. Hundreds of small shops have popped up along the shore, selling shell-based crafts and souvenirs.

These shells and snails can be found not only on Cox’s Bazar’s main beaches like Laboni, Sea-Inn, Kolatoli, and Himchari, but also along the shores of Moheshkhali, Kutubdia, Inani, Ukhia-Teknaf, and St. Martin’s Island.

Visitors at Cox’s Bazar and other tourist destinations across the country purchase crafts made from these shells, contributing a natural touch to the region’s vibrant tourism scene.
