Dry fish production is in full swing in Nazirartek, Cox’s Bazar, gearing up for the high sales season in winter. This year, this coastal hub is drying 20-25 varieties of fish, including popular species like Roopchanda, Churi, Coral, Surma, Loitta Powa, Techanda, Shark, Faisa, and Naila.
Among them, churi (ribbon fish) is the most sought-after. At the local dry fish markets, customers are buying Churi dry fish more than any other variety, with prices ranging from Tk500 to Tk700 per kilogram.
This unique, savory dry fish is also a visual delight, with rows upon rows of Churi dry fish neatly arranged in shops, catching the eye of every visitor.
