Global Affairs Canada-funded ILO-ISEC project signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Paragliding Bangladesh earlier this week to promote commercial paragliding in Cox’s Bazar.

This initiative aims to attract local and international adventure tourists, foster economic opportunities for women and youth, and showcase the region’s stunning natural beauty.

On November 29, teams from ILO-ISEC and Paragliding Bangladesh, in collaboration with the forest division, conducted a survey in Mathavanga Sanctuary to identify acro-training routes.

They pinpointed ideal take-off and landing zones where the hills meet the sea, creating a spectacular backdrop for adventure seekers.

The partnership plans to launch commercial paragliding operations from key locations, including Himchari, Inani, Patiartek, and Teknaf.

These routes will offer tourists breathtaking aerial views of the world’s longest sea beach.

The project also envisions hosting an international paragliding competition to establish Cox’s Bazar as a global hub for adventure tourism.

“This collaboration positions Cox’s Bazar as a prime destination for adventure travelers while promoting inclusive economic growth,” said Maksudul Haque, ISEC Project Coordinator.

Paragliding Bangladesh, a pioneer in adventure tourism, is committed to providing safe, sustainable, and world-class experiences, further enhancing Cox’s Bazar’s appeal to both domestic and international tourists.
