According to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure area has developed over the central Bay of Bengal and its surrounding regions, potentially bringing rain to Bangladesh.
The system formed overnight and is expected to intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area, though it does not pose a threat of developing into a cyclone.
“The low-pressure area is currently near Sri Lanka and may move toward Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar. As a result, rain is likely across Bangladesh starting Friday,” stated a meteorological official.
The system’s movement may cause weather conditions in coastal areas to change quickly, so residents should remain vigilant.
