On the final weekend of 2024, Cox’s Bazar witnessed an overwhelming influx of tourists, with hundreds of thousands flocking to the iconic beach destination. The tourist surge is attributed to the school and college holidays and the peak tourism season at year-end.
From early Friday morning (December 27), the beach points at Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni were abuzz with tourists. As the day progressed, the crowd grew, with many gathering on the sandy shores to witness the breathtaking sunset. On their smartphones, visitors captured the picturesque moments of the setting sun, creating cherished memories of their trip.
Lifeguards worked diligently to prevent accidents during beach activities to ensure safety and security. The tourist police and executive magistrates from the district administration also maintained round-the-clock vigilance to manage the crowds and guarantee a safe environment for all.
