The Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute (BORI) organized its annual seminar to present its research findings for the fiscal year 2023-2024.

The seminar, which took place on Saturday morning at BORI’s conference hall, showcased the results of numerous research projects that aim to explore, harvest, and conserve the Bay of Bengal’s resources.

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Md. Mokabbir Hossain attended as the chief guest. In his address, the Secretary emphasized that the government is committed to addressing the challenges of modernizing BORI to international standards, aiming to accelerate the blue economy.

BORI’s Director General, Commodore Md. Minarul Haque chaired the event, and Rear Admiral (Retd.) Khurshid Alam, President of the BORI Board of Directors, graced the occasion as a special guest.

Prominent attendees included high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology, academicians, researchers, BORI’s scientists, and media members.

During the seminar, BORI researchers presented their findings with comprehensive data and analysis, shedding light on their groundbreaking work in oceanographic studies.
