The humble jujube, or “boroi/kool,” holds a special place in people’s hearts among local fruits. Loved for their unique taste, jujubes are often enjoyed with a sprinkle of salt, chili, or tamarind and are also a popular ingredient for pickles.

Along Cox’s Bazar’s Marine Drive, a street vendor sells jujubes from a small cart, drawing passersby who can’t resist the temptation of this nostalgic fruit. Many find themselves transported back to the carefree days of childhood, where climbing trees for fresh jujubes was a favorite pastime.

The tangy-sweet flavor of jujubes, combined with their rich nutritional benefits, continues to appeal to people of all ages. Packed with health benefits, jujubes are more than just a treat—they are nature’s remedy.

Jujube’s Health Benefits include being a natural blood cleanser, supporting hypertension and diabetes, boosting immunity, and improving digestion.
