Teknaf’s Sabrang area is developing a state-of-the-art tourism park to elevate Bangladesh’s tourism industry to international standards. The initiative aims to attract domestic and international tourists, said the Principal Secretary of the Interim Government Chief Advisor’s office, M. Siraj Uddin Miah.
On Friday afternoon, the principal secretary visited the under-construction Sabrang Tourism Park to inspect various key development projects in Cox’s Bazar.
He was accompanied by BEZA (Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority) Joint Secretary Dayananda Debnath, Abu Hena Md during the visit. Mustafa Kamal, Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md. Salahuddin, Sabrang Tourism Park Zone Director Abu Lahel, UNO Sheikh Ehsan Uddin, and OC Muhammad Gias Uddin, among others.
M. Siraj Uddin Miah emphasized the importance of tourism for Cox’s Bazar, stating, “Tourism is a vital aspect of Cox’s Bazar’s development. The district is already recognized as a tourist hub. The Sabrang Tourism Park will attract more local and foreign visitors, create significant employment opportunities, and contribute to the country’s economic growth.”
The Sabrang Tourism Park is expected to become a significant attraction, enhancing the region’s reputation as a premier tourism destination in South Asia.
