The death toll in the devastating flood has risen to 20 as the deaths of two more people in Cumilla have been reported on Sunday.
Among the deaths, six were in Cumilla, one in Feni, five in Chattogram, three in Noakhali, one in Brahmanbaria, one in Lakshmipur and three were in Cox’s Bazar districts while two persons are remaining missing in Moulvibazar district.
The Disaster Management and Relief Ministry updated the flood situation on the Sunday evening.
Feni, Cumilla, Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Lakshmipur, and Cox’s Bazar districts have been affected by the ongoing flood since August 20.
As many as 52,09,798 people have been affected in the flood in 545 unions and municipalities under 77 upazilas of 11 districts.
10,47,029 families have been stranded in the flood while 4,15,273 people took refuge at 3,654 shelter centers. A total of 22,298 cattle were also given shelter there.
