With the arrival of spring, jackfruit buds have begun to sprout on trees across the hills and slopes of Cox’s Bazar. This year, the yield looks promising, and in just a few weeks, these buds will ripen into Bangladesh’s national fruit, the jackfruit, filling the air with its signature sweet aroma. In Darianagar, the transformation from bud to fruit is already visible.

Nature is embracing its springtime splendour, with trees bursting into bloom and fruits adorning the landscape. From home gardens to roadside trees, jackfruit buds are abundant. At the tree’s base or high up on the branches, clusters of young jackfruit hang like green jewels, adding to the season’s beauty.
