A two-day capacity-building workshop for Counter-Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) workers was held in Cox’s Bazar to strengthen efforts in preventing human trafficking.
Action for Social Development (ASD) organized the workshop at Hotel Media on February 12 and 13. Participants discussed key aspects of human trafficking prevention, survivor rehabilitation, legal procedures, and victim support. Local volunteers and representatives from various organizations actively participated in the sessions.
CTIP members emphasized that such training initiatives are crucial in empowering responders and ensuring better protection and reintegration for trafficking survivors.
The workshop was conducted under the ‘Ashshash’ project, funded by the Embassy of Switzerland, and implemented in collaboration with Winrock International and ASD. According to stakeholders, the project is vital in helping survivors rebuild their lives and regain confidence in society.
Key attendees included Pankaj Goswami, Regional Coordinator of Winrock International; Lutfun Nahar Kant, Program Director of ASD; Tasnim Alam, Program Manager at Pratyashi; Sanjit Das Gupta, Project Coordinator of ASD’s Ashshash project; and Mohammad Ali Rikabdar, Program Officer of ASD’s Ashshash project, among others.
