In a crackdown on illegal hill cutting, the Forest Department in Moheshkhali seized an excavator and two dump trucks for transporting soil in Cox’s Bazar’s Maheshkhali upazila.

The operation, led by Moheshkhali Range Officer S.M. Enamul Haque, took place on February 16 at 5 PM in Golachipa Ghona, Chhoto Moheshkhali Union. Acting on a tip-off, the forest officials found that an excavator was used to cut a hill while dump trucks were used for soil transportation.

Upon arrival, the authorities seized the excavator and two loaded dump trucks and took them to the Forest Department’s custody.

Regarding the operation, Range Officer Enamul Haque confirmed that the action was taken following reports of illegal hill cutting, and the seized equipment is now under official custody.
