The ‘21 Ethnic Groups Beach Festival’ has officially begun under the management of the Small Ethnic Groups Cell of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The festival was inaugurated on Friday (February 21) at the open stage at Laboni Point on Cox’s Bazar’s beach and will run through February 22.
During this two-day event, prominent artists from various ethnic communities, including Chakma, Marma, Mro, Tripura, Lusai, Khumi, Bom, Khyang, Chak, Pangkhoa, Tanchangya, Manipuri, Bengali, Santal, Mahali, Oraon, Malpahariya, Garo, Hajong, Koch, and Rakhine will participate.
The festival will feature a variety of performances in the languages of these communities, including songs, recitations, and dances.
The festival has been organized in line with the core theme of International Mother Language Day to pay tribute not only to the Bengali language but also to the mother tongues of other indigenous communities. Through these cultural performances, the event will showcase Bangladesh’s rich cultural diversity to the world.
