Ramadan is in full swing, and dates have become essential to Iftar. After a long day of fasting, we begin our Iftar with dates, following the Sunnah. During the holy month, the demand for dates increases significantly, as they are vital to breaking the fast. Dates are considered a nutritious food, often valued more than many other items in our daily diet.
The demand for dates during Ramadan is higher than usual, with everyone purchasing them to include in their Iftar spread.
In the Gungachhala area of Cox’s Bazar city, a variety of dates are for sale. Nearly ten different types of dates are available, ranging in price from 400 to 2,700 taka per kilogram, depending on the quality.
