Cox’s Bazar district administration has launched Vromonika, an innovative mobile travel guide app designed to enhance the region’s tourism experience.
The inauguration ceremony occurred this morning at the Shaheed ATM Jafar Alam Conference Room in the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Senior government officials, tourism stakeholders, and law enforcement representatives attended the event.
The chief guest, Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Division under the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, highlighted the app’s significance in boosting the local tourism industry. He further mentioned that additional features and upgrades would be integrated into the app to make it more resourceful for tourists.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin presided over the event, and speeches were also delivered by Mamunur Rashid, CEO of the A2i project and Additional Secretary, Superintendent of Police Md: Saifuddin Shaheen, and Mahbubur Rahman, President of the Cox’s Bazar Press Club.
Government officials, law enforcement agencies, hotel and motel owners’ associations, and representatives from the Tour Operators Association of Cox’s Bazar (TOAC) were also present at the event.
The “Vromonika” app is designed to serve as a comprehensive travel guide, providing tourists with essential information such as travel routes, destinations, and key attractions. According to the district administration, it is now available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
