Shops in Rohingya Camp No. 20 in Cox’s Bazar are now stocked with new clothes, signaling the arrival of Eid. However, according to local sources, most of these clothes are being purchased out of necessity, while Eid shopping is expected to begin in the coming days.

Men’s clothing items such as lungis, vests, shirts, T-shirts, jeans, gabardine pants, shoes, sandals, belts, caps, and prayer hats are widely available.

For women, the shops offer Burmese thami, lehengas, Chinese outfits, stylish three-piece sets, stone-studded frocks, and various cosmetics and accessories. Children’s clothing includes both locally made and Myanmar-imported outfits.

Shopkeepers remain optimistic that Eid shopping will pick up soon, and many plan to introduce new designs to meet the festive demand. Every year, despite limited resources, Rohingya families try to celebrate Eid in their way, leading to a surge in clothing demand.

However, according to local vendors, most purchases are currently focused on essentials rather than festive attire.
